First look? Should we or shouldn't we?

The first look. This semi new trend is becoming more of a regular occurrence at our weddings. The big question is, should we or shouldn’t we? Here are just a few reasons we encourage a first look for you wedding.

Although we understand people love that traditional moment when the groom sees the bride for the first time at the end of the aisle, we wanted to shed some light on some of the perks of having this moment before the ceremony.

First: The first time that your fiance sees you all dolled up, he or she WILL be blown away. The reveal will just be more private and without any distractions. This means that the only thing you’ll see is each other. Also this allows you to talk to each other and share your excitement. And I don’t know about you, but on my wedding day, the person I needed most to help ground me before such an epic event, was my husband.

Second: With the increasing rate of evening weddings, the sunset time leaves little room for formal photos of the bride and groom. Doing a first look allows you to do your sought after romantic photos with some gorgeous daylight. In addition, with some hair and make up artist pre-planning, you can get both touched up one last time before the ceremony. Below photo taken at Villa Caletas, jaco Costa Rica

Third: Speaking of having time for your romantic photos, doing the first look will give you the option to do ALL of your family and bridal party formals prior to the ceremony as well. You know what this means? You get to attend your own cocktail hour! You spent weeks planning details and menu, so why should’t you get to enjoy it and mingle with your guests?
